Reception Outing to Bocketts Farm

The Reception children had a wonderful day out at Bocketts Farm. A major highlight for the children was the brilliant pig racing, which had everyone cheering and laughing with excitement. For the staff, the most rewarding moment was watching the boys grow in confidence and learning how to gently stroke and feed the farm animals. A wonderful day out for Reception class!

Receptions Flight of Fancy

Reception class have been thinking about birds as part of their ‘All creatures great and small’ topic. The boys have been writing about the story of the Little Red Hen and making their own bird homes. Reception boys were so inspired by their topic, they spent their playtime creating a bird house out of bricks and thinking about the best way to care for the birds in our environment- what a caring group of boys we have in Reception!

Geography Field Trip

Year 6 enjoyed a day’s fieldwork at West Wittering on the Sussex Coast. The weather was glorious with barely a cloud in the sky, giving the boys a great opportunity to conduct a geographical study of coastal landforms, processes and proactive management in action. The boys were introduced to the study area, which included a discussion of spit formation, the impacts of coastal processes and the conflicts which arise from human activity. A highlight was exploring the dunes in order to see the saltmarsh and gain a better view of East Head spit and Chichester Harbour. It was a hugely worthwhile and enjoyable day that will help the boys better understand the dynamic and complex nature of our coastlines.
