Parent Partnerships

We recognise the important role that parents and carers play in their child’s development and we work in partnership to ensure that your child’s school life is happy and that they thrive academically.

When you join The Rowans, as part of the Shrewsbury House School Trust, you are joining a community which places great emphasis on strong parent partnerships and offers many opportunities for parents to learn more about educational practices and research. Each School in the Trust hosts their own events including curriculum evenings, subject workshops and guest lectures, whilst also providing opportunity for parents to benefit from the sessions available throughout the Trust. Led by professionals within the Trust, as well as guest speakers who are leaders in their field, parents are able to engage in a wide variety of sessions which help them support their children through these formative years, equipping them with relevant skills and attributes to navigate the future.

Bespoke sessions for year groups in each School help to explain the curriculum through a series of workshops and presentations as well as through online resources. Across the Trust, parents have also had the opportunity to attend sessions on topics as diverse as thinking skills, learning dispositions, debates on screen time, internet safety talks and first aid training.

Parents are also encouraged to share their own expertise with the School. Pupils have enjoyed talks and demonstrations from dentists, doctors, engineers, musicians, athletes and artists to name but a few of the enrichment opportunities we encourage.
