Homework

Homework is a wonderful opportunity in which to engage with your child’s learning at school.

At The Rowans, homework is set to consolidate in-class learning, for example, when learning phonic patterns or practising handwriting, as well as to further learning and exploration in the home environment; this could include looking for habitats in your local park or following a recipe to practise measuring skills.

Homework also encourages your child to work independently, taking responsibility for their learning, developing positive study skills to serve them as they move into Year 3.

Holiday homework packs support parents in understanding how to support their children to consolidate their learning over the long breaks, and how to support their child prepare for their next school.
