Outings and Visitors
Outings enrich the education the children receive within the school environment. We are fortunate to be located close to central London as well as within easy access of Surrey locations.
We often travel by public transport to support the children in learning to use different forms of transport and we also have use of the Shrewsbury House fleet of minibuses. In the past few years outings have taken place in a wide variety of locations including:
- London Wetland Centre
- Battersea Children’s Zoo
- Wisley Gardens
- Morden Hall Park
- Beverley Brook
- Wimbledon Common Rangers
- Polka Theatre
- Hampton Court Palace
- Chertsey Museum
- New Malden Fire Station
- Deen City Farm
- Bushcraft
We welcome many visitors to the School to run workshops, talks and activities which enrich the curriculum. Parents are also welcome to come in throughout the year to share their expertise and interests with the children.
Recent visitors include:
- Live Animal Encounters
- The Great Fire of London puppet show
- Doctors
- Dentists
- Musicians
- Engineers
- Global Music Workshop
- Folktales Storytelling Workshop
- First Aid Skills for children
- Skateboarding and scooting workshop
- Dance workshops
- Circus Skills
Each year, the School Council invites specific visitors to school to broaden their understanding of democracy and the rule of law. Recently, they arranged talks with Mr Stephen Hammond MP and Baroness Vere from The House of Lords.
