Safeguarding

The Governors and the Head fully recognise the School’s responsibilities for safeguarding and child protection, in particular the role we can fulfil as part of a wider system of safeguarding, with a child’s welfare and best interests as our paramount concern.

We strongly believe that The Rowans should provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment that promotes the social, physical and moral development of the individual child and we should be prepared to intervene at an early stage if there is a concern to prevent a concern from escalating. We work closely with parents to ensure that each child receives the care they need at each stage of their development.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Miss Lizzie Spratt, Deputy Head, Early Years and the Designated Safeguarding Deputy is the Head, Mrs Joanna Hubbard. Their responsibilities also include children in the EYFS.
