Facilities

The Rowans School is situated in a large house set in its own grounds and gardens on the edge of Wimbledon Common. Classrooms are modern and bright, and each teacher is able to take advantage of using interactive whiteboards to enhance the learning environment.

The beautiful grounds are a central part of each child’s time at The Rowans. At lunch and play times there are a wealth of opportunities for children to enjoy the outdoors whatever the season. The playground is equipped with swings, slides and a wooden trim trail as well as a sandpit and is enhanced by other outdoor toys including a giant chess set. Children also benefit from a large tipi in the grounds, which is regularly used as an outdoor learning space, much to the delight of the children.

In September 2018, we were delighted to open our refurbished Sports Court. A new Matchplay II sports carpet, with rubber shock underlay, was installed on the court to provide extra stability, support and safety for the wide range of sports the children play.
