The Year 2 children were excited to go on a visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum to deepen their understanding of the art of William Morris. They learnt about the influence of Islamic art on William Morris’s patterns, including the use of geometry and tessellation.
The cast rooms, where the children saw some phenomenal casts of architectural and sculptural works from around the world, were of great interest and the children enjoyed finding answers to their challenging quiz. Back at School, the children are learning to sew so that they can work on enhancing their Morris-style illuminated letters and add some sewing detail.
