The Rowans Christmas Fair!
Next week will bring some extra sparkle to our School as our preparations for Christmas will be well underway. We of course have the Christmas Fair on Friday morning, 29th November organised by our wonderful Friends of the Rowans parents. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to all the children for taking part and the grown-ups for sponsoring their laps around the Sports Court. We really appreciate that you all took part! We are very pleased that everyone had lots of fun. It is amazing how many laps the children did.
Year 1 Aboriginal Workshop
Year One benefitted from a fabulous Aboriginal Workshop this week. Linked to their topic work on Australia, they learned many facts about Australian animals and aboriginal culture and traditional tales, before experimenting with creating their own aboriginal-inspired artwork.
Children in Need
It was wonderful to see the children sporting their spotty items today in support of Children in Need and we know that many chose to support the charity by purchasing their Pudsey merchandise for the occasion. Remembrance Assembly
Year One gave a very moving performance during their Remembrance Assembly, sharing poems and songs with their parents with impressive maturity and poise. Thank you to all who have supported The Poppy Appeal this year. The children have certainly enjoyed wearing their poppies with pride.
Year 2 Hampton Court outing!
This week Year 2 visited Hampton Court Palace. The children explored life at the Tudor Court and made comparisons with their own lives. As young historians, they handled replica objects from the Tudor era which elicited questions and fact sharing. They even put their music lessons to practise by performing a Tudor dance that was …
Let’s Walk to School
Our Junior Travel Ambassadors spoke in assembly on Monday to share their ‘Let’s walk to school’ challenge with the school. They are delighted with the uptake this week with the challenge continuing next week as well!
Harvest Festival
Reception wowed their parents today with a wonderful Harvest performance of The Enormous Turnip. After less than five weeks in school they showed such confidence and enjoyment on the stage.
National Poetry Day
On Thursday, the school was buzzing with the sound of poetry and counting. As part of this year’s National Poetry Day theme of counting, the children created wonderful tautograms about animals. A tautogram is a poem where every word in the line begins with the same letter.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
The Macmillan Coffee Morning was a wonderful opportunity to come together again while raising money for such a worthwhile charity. The sale was a big success. Thank you to The Friends for organising and hosting this wonderful event!
