Year 2 Leavers Concert

On Wednesday, Year 2 brought us tears and laughter in their Leavers’ Concert. To produce such an impressive performance so soon after their recent play is a credit to both staff and children. We were very proud to hear the memories the children will take with them: kindness, teamwork, perseverance, a growth mindset and a great …

School Charity Donation

Carrying out their final duty of the term, School Council presented a cheque for £2,885.91 to Merton Homestart. Thank you to all our families who have generously supported this year’s School charities. The children have learnt so much about the value of helping others as well as how to  organise fundraising events.

House Lunch

The House Captains also had final duties to perform as they proudly collected the House Cup on  behalf of Oak. They gave a rousing speech to congratulate their team and everyone enjoyed a House Lunch with their own colours flying.

Junior Travel Ambassadors

Our Junior Travel Ambassadors have also been completing their duties, carrying out the final travel survey of the term.

The Rowans Summer Fair

It was lovely to see so many families, current, past and future, at the Summer Fair on Sunday and we give an enormous thank you to the organisers and their team for their hard work.

Year Two Play

The highlight of week has undoubtedly been the Year Two play. For those of you who were lucky enough to see it, you will know what a spectacular performance it was, with much humour and audience participation! The children excelled themselves with their music and acting and we have been so impressed with their maturity …

Music Performance

The children have been learning about brass instruments and seeing a French Horn and hearing the sounds had them captivated. They joined in with percussion instruments to familiar theme tunes and songs and will hopefully be inspired to …

Lady Vere visits The Rowans

Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a very interesting meeting with Lady Vere, a Member of The House of Lords. As well as explaining how our system of democracy works in the UK, she talked about her role and what the children can do to influence change in the future.

Community Police Assembly

We enjoyed an informative assembly from our Community Police Officer this week who urged the children to learn the first line of their address in case of an emergency. This is sage  advice and we will be encouraging all of them to do this. They were also reminded to wear bright colours and helmets when …

Year 2 Outing to Bushcraft

The Year 2 Bushcraft visit is one of the highlights of the year. The children learnt to light a fire, cook their own food, navigate using a compass and landmarks as well as playing stealth games. It provides an opportunity for them to take on challenges and surprise themselves by what they achieve as well …
