Sponsored Run

The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the sponsored run for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Organised by School Council, the children ran laps of the sports court and challenged themselves to achieve more than they thought possible. We are very proud of the whole school who have willingly taken part to raise this money whilst keeping …

Music

The excellent solo performances in assembly have continued with Christo being the latest performer on the violin.

National Poetry Day

Creativity was in abundance on National Poetry Day this Thursday. Working in House teams, the  children enjoyed reading different poems relating to the theme of ‘vision’, creating and performing their own poetry. Children who displayed a strong growth mindset approach during this activity were awarded special certificates in assembly today:

School Council Sponsored Run

The School Council launched the sponsored run for Great Ormond Street Hospital this week in assembly. They think that “it is important that we keep fit and healthy and we can do some good for others whilst we exercise”.

The Trussell Trust

Gabriel has demonstrated impressive maturity and thought for others. For his birthday, he requested that  instead of  receiving gifts, donations should be made to The Trussell Trust. He has  received a letter from the Trust thanking him for this gesture and also for the fundraising he has done over many months to support them. Well done, Gabriel!

Kindergarten Trip to the Post Box

Whilst we cannot resume our  programme of outings yet, Kindergarten ventured to the post box in Drax Avenue, closely supervised by our Junior Travel Ambassadors (and, of course, Staff!) to learn more about journeys on foot.

Extra-Curricular Activities

We are very pleased that we have been able to restart Clubs this week and the children have been engaged in a wide range of activities from Digital Creativity to Chess. It is always exciting to see them try out different activities and develop new interests.

Jeans for Genes Day

Jeans for Genes day saw the children wearing slightly different uniforms and they were very pleased to contribute to this important cause. Thank you for your generous donations, we raised £599.

Road Safety

Our Junior Travel Ambassadors are delighted to see so many people cycling and scooting to school. Please remember to be safe on the road, especially around the corner of Drax Avenue as large cars cannot always see the children on the road.

Music

Music is such an essential part of our curriculum and we are very pleased to continue our rich provision whilst adhering to Government guidelines. Children who learn an instrument, either in school or at home, are  invited to  perform to their class during assembly. We started the term with a confident performance from Leo in Year 1.
