The week got off to an amazing start with a visit to the National Gallery. The children bowled over the staff there with their knowledge of the Gallery and of some of its pictures – all the effort put into the weekend homework really paid off! Furthermore, Year 2 proved themselves to be attentive listeners during the workshop and they enjoyed sharing facts with the whole group.
After learning about the messages of three different portraits and a spot of lunch, the children were given clues and sent hunting for more portraits before settling to draw their own masterpieces. Despite covering more miles than Mo Farah, they showed great resilience and we had a wonderful day.
