This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, focusing on the power and potential of kindness. Kindness strengthens relationships, develops community and deepens solidarity. Research shows that kindness is an antidote to isolation and creates a sense of belonging. It helps reduce stress, brings a fresh perspective and deepens friendships. Kindness to ourselves can help boost our self-esteem. At The Rowans, kindness is one of our core values and you will have heard our House Captains encouraging the children to show kindness to others in recent weeks. It is also important that we as adults are kind, not only to others but to ourselves. In these challenging times, to receive and give kindness can take courage but the rewards are immeasurable.
