Chertsey Toy Museum visit Year 1
Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful workshop run by the Chertsey Museum, all about Toys. We stepped back in time as they enjoyed learning about parlour games, investigating toys from past decades and they even had the opportunity to make their own thaumatropes (optical toys from the 19th century!).
The Polka Theatre visit Kindergarten
We have been delighted to welcome several visitors to the school this week. Kindergarten enjoyed a drama workshop led by The Polka Theatre, all about their topic on Traditional Tales and the Gingerbread Man. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they tried something new with a new teacher for the morning.
Reception Parents’ Maths Workshop
It was great to welcome many of our Reception parents into school on Monday evening for our Maths Workshop. Led by Miss Spencer and Miss Fookes, we shared the theory behind our mastery and growth mindset approach as well as lots of tips and resources to help develop the children’s mathematical understanding.
House and Sports Cups
The eagerly anticipated House and Sports Cups were presented in Assembly on Monday. Year 2 Football Fixture
Year Two enjoyed their ‘away’ fixture at Wimbledon Common Prep School on Thursday. The sun broke through the rainclouds just in time and fabulous effort and enjoyment was seen from all.
Aboriginal Workshop
Year One benefitted from a fabulous Aboriginal Workshop this week. Linked to their topic work on Australia, they learned many facts about Australian animals and aboriginal culture and traditional tales, before experimenting with creating their own aboriginal-inspired artwork. The workshop leader was most impressed by the children’s knowledge and engagement throughout the morning.

School Council are proud to announce that they raised an incredible £3,520 for their sponsored Shoot & Score event earlier this week. This money will be used to support our charities for this year, Make a Wish Foundation and WarChild.
