International Week – Earthsong Workshop

On our final day of International Week each class enjoyed a fun and lively workshop lead by Earthsong, where they were able to listen to and try out a wide range of new and exciting instruments from all over the world.

Today we rounded off the week in a sea of colour as the children wore the colours of their country’s flag and arrived ready for a day of creative  learning.

School Council

School Council had their first meeting this week. They learnt how to run the meeting with a Chairperson, agenda and minutes. They proposed some exciting initiatives and you will be hearing from them very soon with their focus for the term.

House Poetry Competition

We enjoyed many excellent performances in the House Poetry Competition. The children had put great effort into choosing a poem to represent this year’s theme of ‘things that make you feel great’, with many becoming poets and writing their own! The Mayor of Merton visits The Rowans

On Monday we were proud to welcome The Mayor of Merton on her first visit to The Rowans School. She presented us a certificate to acknowledge our staff’s committed  dedication and professionalism during the Covid-19 pandemic. Arts Week

The children have enjoyed a fun and enriching week of lessons centered around Gratitude and Arts around the world. We value these creative aspects of our curriculum greatly and have enjoyed seeing how the children have expressed themselves and revealed new talents through these activities.
