Year 1 had a fantastic week. They have been busy learning about different countries through a wordless text and also through an amazing Australian Aboriginal Workshop. The children travelled ‘Down Under’ for a fabulous morning in Australia, where they learned strange things about the animals that live there and took part in recreating Dreamtime Stories. After that, inspired by indigenous Australian art, the children learnt how to create dot paintings using sticks and different techniques. This required great care, concentration and patience and all the adults were very impressed with the finished pictures.
