Aims
rowans_badge.gif The aim of the school is to provide a dynamic and stimulating education based on traditional principles in a well structured, happy and secure environment. The children are given a thorough grounding in basic skills and through encouragement and a balanced and varied curriculum, they develop healthy attitudes to learning.

Alongside academic achievements, children are encouraged to develop self-confidence, good manners and consideration for others. The school's size and facilities are designed to create a family atmosphere: and close co-operation between parents and staff help to achieve our aims. Much individual attention is given to the particular needs of each child to ensure that they all reach their full potential and every talent is nurtured. Detailed written reports are sent to parents twice a year.

Subjects taught include Maths, English, Science, History, Geography and Handwriting. The timetable also includes Art, Design Technology, Nature Study, Games, Gym, Music and Drama, Religious Education and IT. French, taught by native speakers, is offered to children from the age of 5 upwards. The curriculum is carefully prepared in order that the children receive continuity in the methods used throughout the school, and is taught by a highly qualified team of teachers. The children are gradually introduced to homework, which increases with age.
